CINCINNATI -For the first time in who knows when, there isn't a five-star prospect in the state of Ohio. Some years there's an obvious choice for five-star status like Ted Ginn or Chris Wells while other years it could go either way like Alex Boone. But this year there just didn't seem to be anyone who stood out. But that could be changing.
Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain safety Eugene Clifford is the top-rated prospect in a state that produces a ton of NFL talent. At one point, he was out top-rated safety prospect. However, we didn't see the "wow" factor we needed in Clifford despite impressive film. His senior year could provide that factor.
