Insider Report: Shake-up on the DL

Shakeup on the defensive line (By Derek Redd, The Osceola)

Andre Fluellen admitted he was nervous at the beginning of this week, once he took a look at the injury report. With three linemen injured, and starting nose guard Paul Griffin out for the season, the defensive line was hurting.

But with a week's worth of practice to bring the remaining linemen up to speed, and to get end Alex Boston acclimated to the interior, Fluellen's breathing a little easier.

"It's not been a noticeable drop-off," he said. "Of course, we can't really replace Paul in only a week, but Alex Boston coming over, he's big and strong enough to play defensive tackle."

Fluellen said Boston will slide in to the tackle spot, while he and Kendrick Stewart move to Griffin's nose guard spot.

"It's a little more straightforward at the nose," Fluellen said. "I think it suits Alex better to play (tackle) because of his quickness."

And Fluellen feels it might suit himself better to play the power game at nose guard.
