Tiger notebook: A little bit of everything

All week the Tigers heard the talk. This was exactly the type of game they had lost the last couple of years. Not on this day. Missouri left no doubt from the opening bell in Saturday's 34-7 romp over Ole Miss.

"Maybe this team is a little bit different," said head coach Gary Pinkel. "Maybe these guys are starting to figure it out."

The Tigers moved to 2-and-0 for the first time in three years with the win. They have a road game at New Mexico and a home game against Ohio standing in the way of the first unbeaten non-conference schedule since 2003.

"Did he say that for real?" asked wide receiver Brad Ekwerekwu. "We're going out there and just playing a game. That's basically the bottom line. That's how simplistic it is."

Daniel the scrambler

There was much talk during the week about Chase Daniel running the ball too much. On Mizzou's opening drive, the sophomore from Southlake ran four times for 30 yards and the game's first touchdown. By the end of the day, Daniel was the game's leading rusher with 13 carries for 89 yards.
