West falls to SGP

Plano West High School had many reasons to look forward to the 2006 season.

Despite playing in one of the toughest districts in Texas this season with powerhouses such as Allen, Richardson Berkner and Plano, West projected to be a contender with improved team speed and upperclassmen on both lines.

In fact, West's lines dominated those of Class 4A state champion Highland Park in a recent scrimmage, and some experts picked the Wolves to defeat 5A powerhouse South Grand Prairie in their opener. The Warriors boasted offensive tackle Tray Allen,'s the No. 1 player in Texas, as well as nosetackle Justin Williams, the sophomore of the year in their district last season.
