Coach's corner

Monday, after watching freshman quarterbacks Zach Frazer and Demetrius Jones throw for a few minutes, I came to the conclusion that Frazer's throwing motion was stiff and had a bit of a hitch, and that Jones' throwing motion was too short.

If professors Charlie Weis and Peter Vaas were teaching a class, they'd probably assign me extra work and tell me to study a little harder. They'd throw a penalty flag for illegal use of quick judgment.

"You can't just come in and look at a guy throw a couple of times and say, 'I've got it!'" Weis said. "You have to watch his mechanics for a while."
