Sleeper QB about to explode

There is a sleeper quarterback who could blowup this fall. The reason he is flying under the radar this will be his first season as a starter.

Keep your eyes on signal-caller Ben Longshore (6-3, 207, 4.7) from Canyon Country (Calif.) Canyon in 2006.

Canyon coach Harry Welch is very high on his first-year starter.

"Ben is the best quarterback in America that nobody knows about," Welch said. "In our recent passing league tournament with Oaks Christian and if you didn't know who's who you would have had a difficult time determining who the No. 1 quarterback is."

"Those who were in attendance were watching two of the best high school quarterbacks in the country," Welch said. "My guy (Longshore) was that good."

If the name Longshore sounds familiar to you, that's because he comes from good football bloodlines. His oldest brother Nick Longshore is a senior offensive lineman at BYU and his brother Nate Longshore is a redshirt sophomore who at this time is listed as the starting quarterback for Cal.
