John Stokes takes visits, lands another offer

Memphis University School linebacker John Stokes is not just one of the top prospects in the state of Tennessee, he's one of the top prospects in the South. A talented 6-foot-5, 225 pound prospect that was recently rated as a three-Star and the ninth best prospect in the Volunteer state, Stokes has been at the top of many schools wish lists.

Already holding offers from Vanderbilt, Stanford, Alabama, Arkansas, Memphis, Auburn, Wake Forest, Ole Miss, and Michigan, Stokes recently picked up another scholarship from the SEC and his third from his home state when Tennessee joined the group earlier this week while he and his father made three school visits.

"The visits went real good," Stokes said. "Me and my dad drove up to Tennessee on Friday and toured the campus. We talked to some of the coaches and they offered me a scholarship on Monday."

Added Stokes: "We then drove to Wake Forest on Saturday, met with Coach Hood and he showed us around campus and the football facilities. Then we met with Russell Nenon, who's a former teammate at MUS. He'll be a freshmen this year there. He toured us around and got to meet the coaches and everything."
