Hogs target Alabama DE?

It was a busy weekend for Mobile, Ala., Davidson defensive end DeMario Ambrose, but it was also very productive in terms of recruiting.

Ambrose, 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, was on his way to Auburn for an unofficial visit when he found out about his latest scholarship offer. Ambrose already holds them from Purdue, Southern Miss and West Virginia. Georgia Tech, where he later camped last weekend, also has extended a scholarship offer to him.

"I received the offer when I was going up to Auburn and [my coach] told me that I got an offer from Arkansas," Ambrose said. "Then I called the coach and he confirmed it. He said he saw my tape and liked how I looked on tape."

Ambrose is being recruited to Arkansas by defensive line coach Tracy Rocker, who recruits certain prospects in Alabama for the Razorbacks. The Hawgs signed Davidson wide receiver London Crawford in the 2006 class. Davidson regularly produces Division I football talent.
