Florida offensive lineman collecting offers

Elvis Fisher, an offensive tackle in the class of 2007, hadn't attracted massive amounts of attention from big-time college programs until lately, but the Saint Petersburg (Fla.) High School, product was well known in Central Florida area and to new North Carolina State assistant Rick Kravitz, who had spent the previous 10 years at nearby South Florida.

Kravitz had seen the 6-5, 310-pounder in action and liked what he saw so NC State became one of the first nine Division I-A programs to offer a scholarship. Duke, Maryland, Missouri, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Central Florida, Florida International and South Florida have also offered with Clemson, Florida, Nebraska, South Carolina and Auburn also showing interest.

That Fisher's stock is rising shouldn't really come as a surprise when you consider his size and speed. He's been clocked at 5.2 seconds in the 40-yard dash and also has good strength, bench pressing 330 pounds and squatting 500. So far Fisher said he doesn't really have a favorite, he's just happy to be raking in the offers.
