Livas has big-time speed
Arkansas assistant Louis Campbell is recruiting the state of Louisiana for the Razorbacks this year after moving from his administrative position, and one prospect he likes is speedy all-purpose back Phillip Livas of Houma, La., South Terrabonne.
Livas checked in at 5-foot-8, 163 pounds at the Baton Rouge, La., NIKE Training Camp in late April. There, he ran the fastest 40-yard dash time of all the participants. His first attempt was clocked at 4.36 seconds, and his second was an eye-popping time of 4.23 seconds. The times, both measured with a laser, were averaged to 4.30. His first scholarship offer could be on the way, soon.
"I talked to a coach from Southern Miss," Livas said. "My coach says he should be offering, and then last week a coach from Michigan called."
