Clemons gets ready for recruiting

Valley junior wide receiver Toney Clemons has been a highly-touted recruit for most of his high school career, both for his exploits on and off the football field. But while college coaches from around the country try to sway the uber-athletic Clemons, his focus has been off the field lately.

While Clemons, the number four player in Pennsylvania, is concentrating on the 110 hurdles, the long jump, and Valley's relay team, it's his 39 catches, 600-plus receiving yards, eight receiving touchdowns, and five punt return touchdowns that have caught the eyes of college coaches.

Clemons says he now has 11 offers, including scholarships from Pitt, Michigan, Michigan State, West Virginia, and his two most recent offers, Purdue and Cincinnati. Clemons also says that schools such as Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Syracuse have shown significant interest and appear poised to offer.
