New Jersey's Martinek gets SEC offer and more

One of the top players in the state of New Jersey last year was Hopatcong's Joe Martinek.


The 6-foot, 192-pound running back rushed for over 2,500 yards and 28 touchdowns last season the way to helping his Chiefs team to the state championship.


For his efforts Martinek was named first team all-state and was named the West Jersey Player of the Year.


As a sophomore, Martinek rushed for over 1,700 yards and 15 touchdowns and was then rewarded with a offer from Rutgers as soon as his junior year of high school started.


Now after a solid performance at the Piscataway Elite College Combine on May 1, Martinek is starting to see the rewards of both his high school career as well as his hard work this spring.
