UVa taking long look at Texas standout Roberts

While an assistant coach at the University of Texas, UVa assistant Rob Lanier developed some excellent connections in the Lone Star State. And he's using those relationships to help the Cavaliers develop a presence in Texas.


A new player from the state on Virginia's radar is D'walyn Roberts, a 6-foot-7, 180-pound wing player from Duncanville.


CavsCorner caught up with Roberts on Wednesday night to talk about his recruitment.


Roberts is a player who is starting to garner attention from programs across the country. He has the skills of a guard and the body of a small forward, which makes him a tough matchup on the perimeter.


"I can shoot it, I handle the ball well and I rebound pretty well. I've also been getting a lot better defensively," Roberts said.
