Wilson a welcome addition to Athens

Tony Wilson's high school coach, John Maronto, admits that he got an uneasy feeling anytime that the Georgia signee's blazing speed wasn't on the field during a game. Now, the Bulldogs will get their chance to utilize Wilson's speed for themselves.

Georgia receivers coach John Eason, who will be Wilson's position coach when he arrives in Athens this summer, has gotten a chance to work with Wilson a little bit in the past and has a pretty good idea about what the 5-foot-11 inch, 175-pounder will bring to the Bulldogs.

"I had an opportunity to work with him in a camp, so I have an idea of what he can do, but it's a big difference between that and when you get on a college field," Eason said. "He has speed and an ability to make plays."

Eason's not the only one ready to have Wilson on campus. One of Wilson's former teammates at Mainland High in Daytona Beach, Georgia safety Kelin Johnson, is ready for Wilson arrival that will turn Athens into a little bit of Mainland North.
