Camp Notes: Elite College Combine

Editor's Note: West Virginia Sports Dot Com scouted Mountaineer football prospects last week at the Elite College Combine in Randolph, N.J. and the Columbus NIKE Football Training Camp. WVSports.com headed for the Joe Butler Metro Index Tuesday at the UPMC training site on the Southside of Pittsburgh. Here are additional notes from the ECC, to be followed by further postings from the NIKE camp and the Metro Index.

RANDOLPH, N.J.--BigCEO of the Blue Lot is a Jersey high-school football scout, and sent along a handful of names of athletes who were involved in the ECC here. Several of them have either been offered or mailed by WVU. These stood out on May 1:

+Tire Eure of Allentown (Pa.) Parkland is what you look for as you size up a tight end. At 6-foot-4, 242 pounds, he ran a 4.75-second 40-yard-dash at an earlier combine and vertically leaped 26 inches.

Used more as an outside linebacker (4 TFLs, 3 sacks, 1 INT as a sophomore) at his previous school, Plainfield (N.J.), he said part of his decision to transfer across the state border was to get more chances to catch the ball.
