Linemen highlight Columbus Nike camp
On the field memorialized for Ohio State Hall of Fame Coach Woody Hayes, Morgantown High defensive lineman Junius Lewis had West Virginia football on his mind.
Lewis, 6-foot-3, 255, was here participating with some 400 junior prospects from about the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, so that some 150 college recruiters could better get a look-see at a lineman who was offered by Georgia Tech and Minnesota in March, and was offered by the hometown school in April.
While national defensive linemen like Joseph Barksdale of Detroit Cross Technical and Antonio Jeremiah of Hilliard (Ohio) High were searching for major offers from Big Ten staffs, all of which were well-represented here, Lewis had other ideas at the one-day combine.
He was looking to make comparisons of what a school like Ohio State had to offer in terms of amenities compared to the Milan Puskar football complex at home.
