Threet checks out Georgia Tech

One of Georgia Tech's top quarterback prospects was in town last week.

Adrian, Mich., quarterback Steven Threet, who was offered by Tech in early March, took an unofficial visit to the campus on Thursday and then on Friday participated in the Elite 11 Quarterback Camp at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

"It went really well," Threet said Sunday evening. "On Thursday we flew in and got a chance to meet with the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Coach (Patrick) Nix, for a little while Thursday night and then on Friday I went around with one of the academic girls. They were from the school, not the sports program. We went on a tour of the school and then did the Elite 11 that Friday night. It went well."

The visit was Threet's first to Atlanta.

"I heard it was in the city, but I had also heard it was a nice campus. It's weird because you think Georgia Tech of being in the city, but it's definitely a nice little campus area. It was nice getting a chance to see the facilities and getting a chance to talk to the coaches for a little bit. That was good."
