NIKE Camp performance leads to an offer

Blythewood, S.C., linebacker Charles White drove down to Athens, Ga., from his South Carolina home on Saturday to attend the Athens NIKE Camp.

He wanted to show up, work hard, compete, and show coaches what he could. He evidently showed the Georgia Bulldogs he could play between the hedges because they offered him a scholarship after his performance on Saturday.

"I felt I did good at the camp," said White. I wanted to rise to the top, stand out, get the job done, and I think I did that."

White was happy with his performance in all but one area.

"I ran a very slow forty," he said. "I had in my head that I wouldn't run anything slower than a 4.5, but I ran a 4.7. It was a very slow day I thought."
