Bernstine receives Iowa offer

The Iowa Hawkeyes extended a scholarship offer to Des Moines defensive back Jordan Bernstine on Wednesday. Iowa is the eighth school to offer the 5-foot-11, 195-pound junior, joining UCLA, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Iowa State, Kansas, Purdue, and Kansas State.

As a junior, Bernstine did a little bit of everything for Lincoln in leading the team to an 8-2 record. On offense, he had 53 carries for 610 yards and eight touchdowns and also caught 20 passes for 443 yards and four touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, the junior had 75 tackles, including 52 solo, and four interceptions. Finally, on the special teams, Bernstine returned 15 kicks for 698 yards, including four touchdowns, and nine punts for 206 yards. That kind of performance, along with a 4.43 forty and 39" vertical, has led to interest from college football program all around the country this year.
