Surgery reveals best case scenario for TE Ragone

After realizing just how bad his injury could have been, junior Mike Ragone is ready to get back to full strength.

Ragone, one of the top tight end prospects in the country, suffered an injury while competing in the state wrestling championships. In his semi-final match on March 14, the 6-foot-4, 221-pounder from Camden Catholic in Cherry Hill, N.J. suffered what he thought was a complete tear of his ACL in his left knee.

"I was 36-0, and in the state semi-finals 20 seconds into the match he grabbed my and ankle and then my knee popped," Ragone said. "I had surgery this past Tuesday, and they said it was just a slight tear of the ACL. I go to the doctor [Monday] to take the stitches out. He said he was happy after the surgery."
