Damian Williams Learning on the Fly

There weren't many teams in the nation this season that saw so many true or redshirt freshmen on the field because of injuries or depth as much as Mississippi State. The Bulldogs saw true freshman in at running back, wide receiver, cornerback and even on the offensive and defensive line. But a place that wasn't expected to see much time from a freshman was at quarterback.

With Tyler Russell and Dak Prescott healthy coming into the season, fans thought it would be a great year for development out of Louisiana freshman, Damian Williams. Things quickly took a turn when Russell was injured in the first game of the season and Les Koenning and Dan Mullen had to pull Williams redshirt in the second game to make sure he was ready just in case.

In the end, the experience of the season would prove to more than valuable for his career and development as a quarterback at MSU.
