Ray Sees Transformed Ware Stepping up to the Plate
When Rick Ray took over the Bulldogs last season, he didn't have a whole lot of pieces to start a team with. One piece that he knew that he could work around was big man Gavin Ware who grew up right there and Starkville watching the Bulldogs play and seeing great post men like Mario Austin, Lawrence Roberts, Charles Rhodes and Jarvis Varnado. Ware is a different breed than the others and is becoming a double-double machine in the post.
On Tuesday night against Mississippi Valley State, Ware showed that he can make his own legacy as a great center at Mississippi State. A Freshman All-SEC center a year ago, Ware notched his second double-double in three games and garnered his third-straight double digit rebounding game on his way to a career high in points at 23 to go along with 11 rebounds.
