Borchert Attributes Big Sunday to Gym Work
There might not have been a bigger individual improvement from anyone on the team than one of the oldest players a year ago when forward Colin Borchert ended the year on an absolute tear. The junior college transfer out of East Mississippi hit 11 of his 20 three pointers in the final five ball games, a stretch where MSU won three of those games.
Borchert averaged nine points a game with five rebounds but most of that was bumped up as he improved at the end of the year. Borchert has now taken it to the next level in his second and final year in maroon and white and that showed in the Bulldogs' Saturday exhibition game where the talented forward hit both of his threes and 8-9 overall on his way to a game-high 23 points.
