NAMEDROPPER: TEs emerge as major players

AUBURN | The Tigers' tight ends said during the spring that they wanted to diversify their skill sets.

They have accomplished that goal.

C.J. Uzomah and Brandon Fulse appeared on Auburn's first depth chart of the season at both tight end, where they are bracketed at co-starters, and two separate wideout spots.

Fulse is working behind Jaylon Denson at the "2" (flanker) position while Uzomah is working alongside Sammie Coates at the "9" (split end) position. Their portability, coach Gus Malzahn said Wednesday, is a critical component of how the Tigers' offense will operate Saturday and beyond.

"C.J. has gotten better with his blocking and Brandon has gotten better with his receiving," Malzahn said. "Both of them are very versatile. Both of those guys were recruited specifically for this offense."
