Redshirt year pays off for Adams
Nelson Adams benefitted greatly by redshirting his first fall at Mississippi State.
The former three-star defensive end adjusted to the move inside to tackle and made the transition into the Southeastern Conference.
"The redshirt year helped me out a lot," Adams said. "I got stronger and quicker off the ball. I'm a lot more explosive and know how to use my hands better. I got to see mistakes other people made and I know what to do now."
The 6-foot-3, 295-pounder worked with the second unit on the defensive line this past Saturday. Adams has an opportunity this spring to start fresh and impress new Bulldogs defensive line coach David Turner.
