Central Arkansas preview

It has been 298 days since No. 3 Mississippi State lost at Dudy Noble Field, going 19-0 during that span.

The team that knocked off the Bulldogs 2-0 on May 15, 2012 - Central Arkansas - just so happens to be their opponent this weekend for a three-game homestand.

First pitch this evening is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday's start time is slated for 2 p.m. and the series finale will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The meeting last year was the only time the two teams have met on the diamond. MSU was shutout on seven hits during that contest with shortstop Adam Frazier going 3-for-3 at the plate. The Bears had eight hits that evening including four doubles handing Brandon Woodruff the loss.

The Diamond Dogs are 16-0 so far this season and are coming off a 14-2 midweek win over Mississippi Valley State. State improved to 24-0 all-time against the Delta Devils pounding out 17 hits including a 2-for-2 night from first baseman Alex Detz with a triple, double and a run batted in.
