CINCINNATI - Sunday afternoon was a chance for players from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio to all converge on the Queen City for the first ever Core 6 event in the Buckeye state. The Illinois-based group has already had an impressive track record of developing talent and this year is no different with Clifton Garrett headlining a deep roster.
The Joliet (Ill.) linebacker had double duty in Ohio this weekend however and had a chance to visit the Ohio State campus and have a chance to hang out with the players and as Garrett put it himself, see some things that were not just football related including some of the academic side of things.
Garrett already looks like an impressive player at 6-foot-3, 220 pounds but when you get a chance to watch him play you can see a player that has all the tools of an all-conference caliber player once he makes the jump from high school to football after he joins a team in the class of 2014.
The offer list has already reached a dozen schools with Ohio State, Notre Dame, Purdue, Iowa, Michigan State and Nebraska already all offering to name a few within the region while schools like Ole Miss, Arizona State and Vanderbilt all extending offers from outside the region.
Garrett was honored after the camp as one of the MVP's and after he collected his hardware we caught up with him to talk to him about the camp and how his visit went to Ohio State including some of his favorite parts of the trip. Check it out.
