Walker Couldn't Wait to Commit to Stoops
Last month when Oklahoma extended an offer to Garland (Texas) South Garland defensive tackle, Charles Walker it immediately put the Sooners at the top of his list. A commitment was on Walker's mind but first he wanted to take an official visit to Norman to confirm it was where he wanted to play his college ball.
This weekend the 6-foot-4 and 280-pound, explosive defensive lineman made it up to Norman along with his mother. Interestingly enough his host was not a defensive tackle but instead was redshirt-freshman running back, Alex Ross. Walker felt like the two of them connected over the last couple of days.
"We did a lot of talking," Walker replied about his time with Ross. "He was a real serious person and he gave me a lot of info about the school and the workouts. I felt we really connected. We just chilled and I got to know a lot of people."
Being that this was Walker's first time in Norman, he had only seen the campus through pictures but once he saw it up close, admitting it was even more than he had expected.
