Tigers look to take pressure off Pressey

When we last saw Phil Pressey, he was putting on a Ruthian 19-point, 19-assist performance in an overtime loss at UCLA. Pressey's coach would like to see just a little bit more Ichiro Suzuki the rest of the year.

"We don't need home runs.  Base hits," Frank Haith said. "He's a competitive kid and he wants to win and I do think he is trying to make plays constantly. It's just something you've got to work though in terms of managing the game when you're in the flow of the game. I think Phil is terrific. He's just got to continue to get better with it."

Pressey came within three assists of the single-game NCAA record against the Bruins. But he did not notch an assist in overtime and did turn the ball over a couple of times late.

"The base hits I'm talking about, we went home run route the last four minutes and we need to be in that base hit mode," Haith said. "When you're up eight, nine points, you've got to finish the game out and we had a couple tough plays there. We didn't manage the clock very well."
