Sooners Get Serious About 2014 Standout
In the past few months many have focused on Oklahoma's new recruiting territories and some of the changes in priorities at certain positions but one thing that has gone somewhat overlooked is Oklahoma's more proactive presence in recruiting underclassmen. Whether it's a planned shift or simply a reaction to the trends of college football recruiting is unclear but either way the Sooners are well ahead of their usual offer pace.
One player recently adding to the growing 2014 offer list is Mansfield (Texas) Timberview defensive back Edward Paris. The 6-foot-2, 188-pound prospect already held offers from Clemson, LSU, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Purdue, and Texas A&M among many others and has since picked up offers from Notre Dame and Washington.
"It's really exciting, I'm loving all of it, I just keep trying to humble myself, but every time a new coach comes up to me and gives me an offer it's exciting all over again," Paris said. "To be honest, I really don't know (how the attention happened so early). I don't know what happened, it just came out of the blue. I guess my hard work started paying off and God got me there."
