Morgan wins state title

For Iowa City West standout Jeremy Morgan, you really could not have scripted a better junior year. The 6-foot-6, 175-pounder continued to improve his overall game and led his team to an undefeated season and a state championship in Class 4A. In Saturday night's title game, Morgan led all scorers with 26 points as the Trojans beat Sioux City East by a score of 67-52.

"It was just a really great experience," said Morgan. "It's where we wanted to be since the very first day of practice, so to finally get it was a great feeling. We didn't lose a game all season and won the state championship, so you couldn't really ask for anything more."

Morgan finished the season averaging 14.8 points per game, shooting 44% from three-point range and 85% from the free throw line.
