The Buckeye recruiting effort paid off again for Urban Meyer and more specifically new offensive line coach Ed Warinner as Windsor (Colo.) offensive lineman Joey O'Connor just gave his verbal pledge to the Buckeyes and is the 21st member of the Buckeye recruiting class.

The 6-foot-4, 295 pound lineman just confirmed to BuckeyeGrove.com via text message that he made the pledge and becomes the fourth commit on the offensive line joining Taylor Decker, Jacoby Boren and Pat Elflein.

Ohio State hosted O'Connor this past weekend and the No. 82 player in the nation secured an Ohio State offer during his trip. The big lineman did not commit during his trip and wanted to have a couple of days to sort things out. Apparently he only needed two days before eventually making the call.

O'Connor was also considering Iowa and California during the process but held offers from several other schools. The Bears took a major hit in losing their most prolific recruiter in Tosh Lupoi to in-conference foe Washington only a day ago. It is unknown if that contributed to the timing of the decision.

We will have more from O'Connor on his decision in the very near future and will break down what this means to the Buckeyes. Could a fifth lineman join this class in either Kyle Dodson or Jordan Diamond? We will look at that coming up later.
