After a slow start two weeks ago in the Regional finals, the Trotwood-Madison football team was looking to get off to a better start on Friday night. The Rams took on perennial Central Ohio power Columbus Marion-Franklin and thanks to a big first quarter play by safety Bam Bradley the Rams got off to a much quicker start in the 47-44 victory.
From his centerfield safety position, Bradley intercepted a Corry Benson pass and raced 72 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown to give Trotwood its second touchdown of the game. Bradley would add five more tackles to his stat line as the Rams now advance to the Division II State Championship for the second consecutive this season. Trotwood is hoping for a better result this time around as they were downed by Maple Heights a year ago.
Bradley added to his reputation as a playmaking safety with his early pick-six. Bradley's ability to force turnovers and to turn defense into offense has been well documented and this was the second consecutive game that Bradley has notched an interception.
Bradley once again showed an impressive ability to come up from his deep safety position and make plays near the line of scrimmage. He will need to continue to work on his consistency and recognition skills and also needs to show better judgment in terms of not always going for the big play, but instead knowing when to just make the sure tackle. Still, it was another solid performance from Bradley who has made some huge, game-changing plays for the Rams throughout the postseason.
