Wittek wins Under Armour Player of the Game

Santa Ana (Calif.) four-star quarterback Max Wittek wore red and white for most of his high school career at Mater Dei. Wednesday, Wittek chose to wear white and won the 2011 Under Armour All-American Game MVP.

Wittek went 14-24 for 150-yards and two touchdown passes, including a 49-yard bomb to Valdosta (Ga.) receiver Malcolm Mitchell with 1:47 remaining. While it appeared Wittek had led his team to a 22-21 fourth quarter comeback, the Red team's offense marched down the field on the ensuing drive.

Inside the 10-yard line, the Red team set up for a field goal. The first attempt was blocked by New Orleans (La.) defensive tackle Anthony Johnson. However, a penalty gave Taylor Bertolet Reading (Pa.) kicked another shot a 24-yard field goal with no time remaining to give the Red team a 24-22 win.
