Notebook: Donovan wants 'killer mentality'

When Florida basketball team begins its season tonight against UNC-Wilmington, the Gators will be looking to improve upon a few things, namely their intensity.

After his team gave up a 7-2 run to begin the second half of Florida's final exhibition game, head coach Billy Donovan benched his starters to send them this message: You have to come out with the same intensity in the second half as the first.

In that game, the Gators allowed 43 points to Georgetown College in the second half after holding it to 19 in the first 20 minutes. And Donovan wasn't happy about it.
