BT goes in-depth with Cal's opening defensive performance
The last time that the Cal football team held an opponent to less than 150 yards of total offense was on Oct. 1, 1994, when the Bears (1-0) surrendered 147 to San Jose State. On Saturday, Cal allowed just 81 yards to UC Davis (0-1) in the season opener. Despite the feat, defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast kept a low key to his postgame comments.
