Waller's camp showing gets notice

Three-star linebacker/defensive end Corey Waller (6-1, 210, 4.6) from Long Beach (Calif.) Poly just concluded a very busy camp schedule where his performance impressed coaches and onlookers alike. He recently attended both local camps at UCLA and USC.

"When I went to the UCLA camp we did one on ones with the tight ends and we did a couple of drills," Waller said. "I think I did alright, especially when we did the one on ones with the tight ends. I was faster than them and I'm stronger than them or as strong as them, too."

Waller basically played defensive end as a junior for Poly, but he is being recruited as a linebacker so he at the camps he has to take advantage of those moments in front of coaches because, once his senior season rolls around Waller is going to line up primarily at defensive end because Poly needs his pass rushing skills off the edge, but according to Waller he will see some time at linebacker this fall.
