Kline still likes Huskies

Ben Kline is one of the top linebackers on UConn's recruiting board and the Huskies have invested a lot into the 6-foot-2, 220-pound prospect. There is a lot of mutual interest between the two parties and UConnReport.com has the latest on Kline's recruitment.

With offers from UConn, Boston College, Maryland, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, Kline has no shortage of options. That list could grow even more after the summer, but Kline is hoping to have a decision made before then.

"I want to commit sometime during the summer," Kline said. "I'm taking it kinda slow and trying to enjoy the last summer I have with my family and friends.

"I don't have any (favorites) yet. I mean, I haven't really sat down and tried to set out a number and eliminate schools. I'm just kinda feeling it out right now. I think I'm going to know when I'm ready to decide. I'll just have a feeling."

Though he has no favorites to speak of UConn is one of the schools under serious consideration. Kline is very familiar with the program and the school, being relatively close to his home, and he likes all that he has seen so far.

"UConn's definitely one of the teams I feel pretty solid about right now. I'm really considering them," he noted.

"You know, they've kinda been with me from the beginning. Me and the coaches are close. I've liked it the couple of times I've been to the school and they've been to my school. Back when head coaches could visit (high) schools coach (Randy) Edsall came around."

Kline was at UConn's football game against Rhode Island last fall and he attended a junior day, which fell around the same time as the basketball team's non-conference game against Texas. His third trip was for one of the Huskies' spring practices.

According to Kline, Duke and Illinois have recently extended verbal offers. Prior to making his decision later this summer Kline hopes to visit Boston College, Vanderbilt, Illinois and Duke -- schools that have offered but also schools he has not seen yet.
