Super Seven draft forecast: Pouncey
The NFL Draft begins Thursday night, and by the time it ends two days later several Florida Gators likely will have been selected.
The intrigue is particularly high in 2010, and not only because seemingly everyone has an opinion as to where Florida quarterback Tim Tebow will go. Cornerback Joe Haden and center Maurkice Pouncey are likely first-rounders. Defensive end Carlos Dunlap, tight end Aaron Hernandez and Tebow also could potentially go in Round 1. When all is said and done, NFL teams could select eight or more Gators. Of the 12 draft-eligible Florida players, we've broken down the ones we believe are the best seven.
In this profile, GBN analyzes Pouncey.
During a stellar three-year career, Pouncey appeared in 41 games with 39 starts. In 2009, he was awarded the Rimington Trophy, which goes to the country's best center. He was a consensus first-team All-SEC pick and a Walter Camp All-American. Last fall, he graded out at 91.5 percent for the season and recorded nearly 30 pancake blocks.
