Orange & Blue Debut: Notes & Notables

John Brantley was on the money most of the day with his throws, Carl Moore made one eye-opening catch after the other, Joshua Shaw looked like a cornerback who wants to play as a true freshman and backup quarterback Trey Burton displayed the type of running ability that could give opposing defenses headaches.

That's not all that transpired during Saturday's Orange & Blue Debut.

Here are some other notes, quotes and anecdotes to chew on:

*Junior offensive lineman Matt Patchan, who was limited this spring as he recovered from ACL surgery and didn't play Saturday, performed individual drills before the event -- and looked quite good. He should be 100 percent by fall practice and could contend for a starting spot.
