Hammond hoping to make an impact

GAINESVILLE -- Frankie Hammond Jr. had a spring game to remember last year.

He went 50 yards with one catch.

Another was good for 47.

By game's end, Hammond had four receptions for 131 yards and two scores.

"I'm just trying to contribute and trying to fit in wherever it may be," he said afterward.

With Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy having departed for the NFL, it appeared as though Hammond might be a major contributor on offense in the fall.

But that never materialized.
