Bruins let it slip away

UCLA led most of the game tonight against the Arizona Wildcats, but gave up the lead with 3:19 left in the game to lose 78 to 73. The Bruins led the entire first half and had a 12 point lead with 25 seconds left until Arizona hit a 3-pointer and UCLA hit a free throw to lead by 10 at the half.

Malcolm Lee had 13 points at the half, Michael Roll got 11 points and Nikola Dragovic scored nine points for the Bruins. Kyle Fogg had seven points and Derrick Williams added eight for the Wildcats. UCLA shot 60 percent to Arizona's 38 percent in the first half.

In the second half the Bruins extended their lead to 14 points at the 15:31 mark, 50 to 36, but then Arizona got hot. They started hitting their shots as Fog hit threes and Lamont Jones penetrated to the hoop. Arizona went on a 25 to 8 run to tie the game at 58 all with 7:54 to go in the game. UCLA scored 5 points but so did Arizona to tie the game again at 63 all.
