Akron blue chip junior visits MSU

One of the top prospects in the nation for the class of 2011, Doran Grant of Akron Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School, was on campus this weekend. This was not Grant's first visit to East Lansing. Find out some details on the sure-fire Rivals 100 prospect.

SpartanMag.com was able to confirm that Grant was indeed on campus on Saturday. He was able to attend the Spartans' Junior Day on Saturday and on Sunday he made a trip to Ohio State for the Buckeye's Junior Day.

Grant was offered by Head Coach Mark Dantonio last summer after he put on an impressive performance at the Spartan Summer Camp. In addition to Michigan State, He currently holds offers from teams such as Ohio State, Iowa, Michigan, Notre Dame and Georgia.

In addition to summer camp and the junior day, Grant was at Michigan State this past fall watching the Spartans defeat Western Michigan 49-14.

One of the reasons why Grant there is a high-level of mutual interest between Michigan State and Grant is due to the fact that his father was a standout wide receiver for the Spartan back in the early 1980's. Ted Jones was Michigan State leading receiver in 1980 and 1981, catching 40 and 44 balls respectively.

Grant is still very early in the recruiting process. You can be sure that mark Dantonio and apt Narduzzi will continue to make him a top priority for the class of 2011.
