Bowl talk with Rick Neuheisel

Shortly after UCLA was named to the EagleBank Bowl, Bruin head coach, Rick Neuheisel, took time out of his busy recruiting schedule to have a teleconference with the local media to discuss and answer questions on the game.

Neuheisel: "I'm thrilled with the opportunity to play again and I know our team is too. I have received a number of calls from the guys all excited. It's going to be a great experience."

Have you had a chance to look at Temple much yet?

Neuheisel: "I've watched a couple of games and they are talented, very talented. They play with a lot of enthusiasm. They play with a lot of passion. Their defensive front is as good as any front that we have seen.

"It would be hard to compare them right now, but in terms of what they look like physically. They looked the part and I am very excited about this opportunity for everybody."

They seem to have a very strong running game and back in your darker days of your season that seemed to be a problem. What is different about you guys now then when you were playing those games?

Neuheisel: "You know, I just think that we're going to be better. That we have a chance to improve and that give us that many more practices and I made mention to the players yesterday in our meeting that to be a great football team and to have a great experience in a bowl you have to first find a way to win that football game. Everything about this bowl experience wil be in preparing to win.

"The other thing is to make sure that it's an award. So I am very excited about being able to provide both of those for our players."
