USF awaits as Mountaineers develop

MORGANTOWN--After Saturday's 28-24 win against Connecticut, No. 20 West Virginia and head coach Bill Stewart will head south to Tampa for a Friday night showdown with South Florida. Stewart still believes his team is a work-in-progress, but a 6-1 start suits him.

"When we weren't good on short yardage and goal-line situations, we got better," said the head coach during his Sunday teleconference.

"When we aren't good at something, we work on it. Things have gotten better. With that being said, that tells me that our staff is doing a great job and our players have bought in."
