Confidence building for Bell

For Mississippi State kicker Devon Bell it came almost instantaneously. Bell came on at the end of the Bulldogs first drive of the season to boot the extra point through the uprights.

But things haven't been all sunshine, lollipops and rainbows for Bell since his college career started. He missed his first three field goals during the first two games but has drilled all four since in the last two contests.

"It's real good and I'm enjoying every minute of it," Bell said. "I'm real honored to start in the SEC and now I've just got to keep getting better."

In his last outing against South Alabama, Bell went 3-for-3 including a season long of 42-yards.

"It did a lot for my confidence going 3-for-3," Bell said. "Hopefully now I can just keep going. It's a big relief now."

The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder is now preparing for his first SEC road trip at Kentucky. He believes that his previous successful road trip to Troy and solid home outing against South Alabama will help him as he steps on the field at Commonwealth Stadium this weekend.
