Ole Miss preview

Having won four straight games including a sweep over Tennessee last weekend, Mississippi State finds itself right back in the hunt for Hoover.

The Bulldogs have an opportunity to better its seeding as well as earn some instate bragging rights this weekend hosting rival Ole Miss for a three game set starting tonight at 7:05 p.m.

MSU will be seeking a little redemption against the Rebels, who claimed their April 17th Governor's Cup meeting 6-3. The Diamond Dogs struck out 16 times in that contest held at Trustmark Park in Pearl while Ole Miss collected 10 hits.

State has the overall lead in the series 238-196-5 and took the series last season by winning two games in Oxford. The Bulldogs are 116-75-1 in games played in Starkville. However, Ole Miss swept the last time they came to Starkville in 2010.
