Brown enjoying peaceful aftermath
January has been a stressful month the past few years for some of Mississippi's top uncommitted prospects.
In a lot of cases it has been the heated rivalry between Mississippi State and Ole Miss that has fueled most of the rumor filled weeks leading up until signing day. This year's victim seemed to be Long Beach four-star linebacker Richie Brown.
Brown's name was tossed around message boards causing him to close off all communication with reporters until he made his decision on Feb. 1.
After picking the Bulldogs by revealing his four-month old nephew in a MSU onesie that day things have been pretty quiet for Brown.
"It's been a huge change," Brown said. "It was a huge stress reliever getting that off my shoulders. I've been able to focus on a lot more things that I probably need to focus on now. It's a good break that I needed."
Rated the No. 12 middle linebacker in the country and the No. 4 overall prospect in Mississippi, Brown handled his recruitment with class throughout the process. With everything settled, Brown can sit back and laugh at some of the thing he heard.
