Monday Blitz Bitz

First Blitz Bit: Mississippi State was swept by South Carolina over the weekend for the first time this season in a three-game set. The Diamond Dogs have not been swept since dropping three road games to Georgia last year. If the season ended today, MSU would not qualify for the SEC Tournament. But the Bulldogs have five weeks left to turn things around with three series coming at home. John Cohen said "We have three series at home, I really believe in this group of guys. Their attitude is awesome. It is tough to watch kids give it their all when they really can't move. I will back these guys 100 percent. They are part of some outstanding recruiting classes. We had to out-recruit the LSUs, Auburns and Floridas of the world to sign these kids. We have had had some back luck. But I really like how the schedule matches up. As we get healthy again, we should be able to do some damage in the second half of the season."
