Mississippi Valley State preview

Mississippi State plays host to Mississippi Valley State tonight at 6:30 p.m. for the third time this season.

The Bulldogs have never lost to the Delta Devils on the diamond with a flawless 22-0 record to date.

MSU claimed 13-5 and 5-1 victories on Feb. 25-26 on the second weekend of the year as part of a round robins series with Kansas. The Diamond Dogs combined for 24 hits in those two contests with freshman first baseman Wes Rea leading the way going 5-for-9 with two doubles and five RBIs.

State is coming off their third straight Southeastern Conference series loss at Auburn over the weekend. The Bulldogs won the Friday contest 5-3 before dropping the final two games of the weekend 10-6 and 8-2 dropping their record to 18-11 on the year.
